MAPIU

Mapiu is a seasoned DJ, producer, and photographer with over 37 years of experience in the electronic music scene. Born in Mexico City, his musical journey began at the age of 14, influenced by Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre. By that moment, all artists that were just establishing the bases of our modern music, and the rich sonic landscapes of New Wave, ’80s synths, and ’90s House and Techno.

Known for his dark, melodic, and powerful sound, Mapiu puts Indie, Progressive, Tech House, Deep House, and Techno into dynamic, emotive mixed sets. 

Mapiu began producing music in 2003, and his tracks have received support from international heavyweights such as James Zabiela, Hernán Cattáneo, and Jimmy Van M. His signature style (eclectic yet cohesive) has made him a respected figure in the global underground scene.

With a career rooted in passion and evolution, Mapiu was once described as “Mexico’s best kept secret” and maybe he is, but only for the uninitiated in the rich Mexican electronic culture.
