TECHNASIA

Technasia, founded in 1996 by Charles Siegling and Amil Khan, is a special fusion of old school electronic music with musical traditions from the east and west hemispheres. Initially a duo, it thrived for over a decade before Khan amicably departed in 2008 to focus on family. Since then, Siegling has carried on as a solo act, maintaining Technasia’s reputation for high-energy performances and sophisticated techno.

During the 90s, the parisine went to check out the Hong Kong cinema scene as part of his studies in film production. There he was introduced to Amil Khan with whom they started the whole project. They chose to base Technasia and their record label Sino in Hong Kong because there was no scene there: no record shops, no underground, no infrastructure. 

Siegling is a Paris-based DJ and producer that has performed worldwide, from China to Spain, ostentating his signature skills in live sets using multiple decks, and cutting and scratching techniques. In addition to performing, Siegling promotes young talent through Technasia's Sino label and produces LPs almost every year.

In 2010, Charles Siegling released Central, the first Technasia album as a solo project, evolving once more. His dedication to breaking cultural barriers through music remains central to Technasia’s philosophy. “Language is THE ultimate barrier,” says Siegling as he breaks that barrier, communicating through sound. Still, he speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish and Italian, among other languages, so that he can communicate with his music and his words.
