Jonathan Kaspar

Jonathan Kaspar is a DJ and producer from Bonn, Germany, now based in Cologne. He started out collecting hip-hop albums while playing basketball, later discovering electronic music in his teens. After finishing medical school, he shifted to music full-time, organizing parties in Bonn before becoming a resident at Cologne’s Gewölbe club. He is also the main resident at Hawā, an open air even that moves around europe.

Kaspar’s music has been released on Kompakt, Innervisions, Crosstown Rebels, Cocoon, and more. He’s remixed artists like Sven Väth, Kölsch, and John Digweed. His style is diverse, ranging from Afro house to deep techno, and often built around minimal elements and strong rhythmic bases. Other characteristic of Jonathan Kaspar are his extended DJ sets, where he focuses on sound design, finding inspiration in everyday moments, often incorporating natural sounds into his tracks.
