Awa (Uwu) is a non-binary audiovisual artist from Puebla working across mediums and specially creative coding, 3D environments, video art, music curation, and cultural production. They host Ruido Negro on Radio 28 and are a DJ and music producer exploring genres like breaks, latincore, latin club, bass, dubstep, and hybrid trap, some under the co-pseudonym NRVLS as a vocalist. Their style incorporates dark ambient, leftfield, fast rhythms, and Latin American club sounds.
They’ve released 19 tracks in 2024 alone across labels like Rawa Club, Ofensa, Subalterna Net, Suculenta Globar, and Hypersonics, combining Latin house, tribal, dubstep, hardcore, bass, and cumbia. Awa Uwu has performed over 40 times across Latin America and appeared on platforms such as HKCR, Threads Radio, The Lot Radio, Radio Raheem, Radio Muévelo, and Apple Music.
They are also a member of Trampa de Sed, a collective and indie label centering around Latin American trans artists. The project builds inclusive, community-driven spaces and curates bold lineups prioritizing non-binary and trans representation.
