WhoMadeWho
Copenhagen-based Three-piece Experimental Pop Band.
WhoMadeWho is a three-piece experimental pop band based in Copenhagen. The band was formed in 2003 and consists of Jeppe Kjellberg, Tomas Barfod, and Tomas Høffding. They released their self-titled debut album in 2005 on German disco label Gomma Records, which was followed by The Plot in 2009, Knee Deep in 2011, Brighter in 2012, Dreams in 2014, and Through The Walls in 2018.
The band's live performances have included sharing the stage with notable contemporary artists such as Daft Punk, Soulwax, Hot Chip, Justice, and LCD Soundsystem. They have also had the honor of having their single "TV Friend" remixed by Hot Chip and their song "Space for Rent" covered by Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age.
In 2007, WhoMadeWho headlined the Benicàssim festival after the scheduled headliners, Klaxons, arrived too late to play their set. They have also performed at the Festival of Sanremo 2014 in Italy, where they paid tribute to Franco Battiato by playing "Cuccurucucu" with Arisa. In 2021, the band performed at the ancient temples of Abu Simbel in Egypt for the cameras of Cercle.
Their latest album, UUUU, was released in September 2022 and was inspired by 90s and 00s Electronica and 80s Post-Disco. The album launch was held at the Koko club venue in London and was supported by Jan Blomqvist and Rockin Moroccin.
