Born in 1977 in Leipzig, East Germany, Kalkbrenner's musical journey began at the tender age of eight when he started studying the trumpet. As the Berlin Wall fell in 1989 and East and West Germany reunited, Kalkbrenner found himself immersed in the burgeoning electronic music scene, becoming a regular fixture at youth clubs and East Berlin's vibrant club culture.
