Matador

Gavin Lynch, known on stage as Matador, is a Dublin-born live artist who has earned worldwide acclaim for his versatile and high-quality electronic music. 

Matador's journey in electronic music began with a sound engineering course at Dublin's Sound Training Centre, which sparked an enduring obsession with electronic music production. Inspired by giants like Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, and Jeff Mills, Matador, Matador has risen to the top, making his mark as a key component of Hawtin’s Minus imprint with successful releases such as ‘Kingswing’ and ‘Spooks’ EP. 

The 2016 DJ Awards’ Electronic Live Performer winner is also a proud ambassador for the NEVE 5088 Console and Hawtin's PLAYDifferently MODEL1 mixer.

From playing at top clubs and festivals such as  Awakenings, Tomorrowland, Sonus Croatia, Ultra, and Output, DC-10, Space Ibiza and Stereo Montreal to becoming an ENTER resident at their worldwide events, Matador's reputation has grown exponentially. His dynamic live shows pack venues and have placed him consistently in RA's Live Artist poll.

In 2016, he added another feather to his cap, starting his RUKUS label, which serves not only as an outlet for his music but also as a platform for both emerging and established talent. 

Apart from his thriving career in music, Matador is a trained  chef from his early twenties, reaching the point of a promising career in Dublin's Michelin-starred restaurants. Today, music is his life's work, and cooking remains a much-loved hobby.
