About Lessy

Lessy is a DJ and music producer from Mexico City whose work is rooted in Afro House, Deep House, Disco, and percussive electronic sounds. She began in the music industry as a manager and booker for local artists before deciding to learn to DJ and later produce, guided initially by Dolphin, who became her mentor.

As a performer, she has played in leading clubs across Mexico, Argentina, and Europe, delivering extended sets. Her sound reflects her background as a percussionist, often marked by rich drum layers, heavy basslines, and dancefloor-focused energy.

Her inspiration to enter the industry came from the need to express her art and connect with people, and through music she has built meaningful relationships and a strong identity as an artist. She prioritizes both musical and visual aesthetics, considering image and branding as integral tools to transmit her artistic message.

She has cited Disclosure’s Energy, Los Ángeles Azules’ Cómo Te Voy a Olvidar, and Michael Jackson’s Thriller as formative albums, and her first self-produced track El Mercado as the moment she realized her ability to shape her path as a producer.

She advocates for greater female representation in electronic music, criticizing the industry’s history of undervaluing and sexualizing women, and calls for more respect, inclusion, and recognition for female DJs. She emphasizes professionalism in bookings and urges promoters to value women for their music and contribution, not appearance.

Her dream lineup includes Black Coffee, Aaron Sevilla, Mijangos, Dimo, Maz, and Moojo: artists she considers pioneers and inspirations in Afro and Latin electronic music.

Currently associated with Café de Anatolia, Super Spicy Records, and Material Disco Records, Lessy is just starting her career, so we will probably have a lot more from her.
