Joanne Bhaloo, known behind the decks as Silkyspinz, is a Romanian-born, Canada-raised DJ, creative strategist, and entrepreneur based in Playa del Carmen. With over 15 years of experience in business development and recruitment, she now serves as Director of Creative Strategy & Operations at Downtown Tulum Radio.

Her musical journey began in the late 1990s, influenced by legends like Frankie Knuckles, Honey Dijon, and Laurent Garnier. After decades immersed in the underground house scene as a fan, she stepped into DJing as a form of healing following personal loss. Her style is a mix of deep house, Chicago house, jackin' house, and jazz-soul.

As Silkyspinz, she prepares an experience that reflects a lifetime of resilience and connection to music. Off the decks, she is also a published author, business consultant, and co-creator of spaces that empower artistic expression and personal growth.
