Floyd Lavine

Floyd Lavine is a South Africa–born, Berlin-based DJ, producer, label owner, and a key figure in the Afrofuturism movement within electronic music. His sound comes from Afro house and reflects his roots and his ongoing dialogue with the future. Floyd is a co-founder of RISE, a collective and label inspired to bring Afro sounds to clubs across Europe and Africa. His own imprint, Afrikan Tales, is a platform for up-and-coming artists from the continent and diaspora. 

His sets range from Afro to Techno to Disco, delivering a rich blend of musical stories. Floyd’s productions appear on Innervisions, Ninja Tune, Watergate Records, Get Physical, and Upon.You, alongside remixes for Kerri Chandler and Coldcut. 
His accolades include shows at Glastonbury, Berghain, Watergate, Djoon, and festivals in South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, and the USA, and media coverage by BBC, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Vogue Italia, and Beatport. Floyd sees his work as a way to celebrate, connect, and imagine the future through creativity, specially in an Africa that is being built.
